S. hookeriana var. hookeriana ‘Ghorepani’ is a new form of Christmas box named after the village in Nepal where it was discovered by plantsman Chtistopher Grey-Wilson. Glossy evergreen lanceolate leaves are complemented in early spring by an abundance of highly scented clusters of small white flowers. It may even produce round black berries in the UK. It neads fertile soil with a well drained but moist situation. Full sun may bleach the leaves.
I hope to add some plants to the Collection once they are acclimatised to the conditions here in Sheffield.
